How to complete your professional internship?
Information for Interns
To undertake your Professional Internship

- You must contact the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit and submit the following documentation:
- Request the Letter of Introduction from the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit.
- Submit the Letter of Introduction to the Host Organization.
- Request the “Work Plan Form” from the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit.
- Draft the Work Plan with the assistance of the supervisor at the Host Organization.
- Submit the Work Plan approved by the Host Organization to the Academic Unit coordinator.
During the Internship
- Request the “Bimonthly or Monthly Report Form” from the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit (subject to your Academic Unit's specific guidelines)
- Draft and submit the Bimonthly or Monthly Report to the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit. These reports must be signed by both the Host Organization supervisor and the intern.
Upon Completion
- Request the following templates from the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit:
- “Professional Intern Evaluation Form”
- “Host Organization Evaluation Form
- Provide the “Host Organization Evaluation Form” to your supervisor at the Host Organization.
- Complete the “Professional Intern Evaluation Form.”
- Submit both completed evaluation forms (“Professional Intern Evaluation Form” and “Host Organization Evaluation Form”) to the Academic Unit coordinator.
- Request the “Placement Completion Letter Template” from the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit.
- Provide the “Placement Completion Letter Template” to your supervisor at the Host Organization.
- Once the Completion Letter has been issued and signed by the Host Organization, it must be submitted to the Internship Coordinator at your Academic Unit.
- The Academic Unit will specify the type of final report required from the intern.
Academic Unit Coordinators
Application Stage
- The Academic Unit coordinator is responsible for assigning the Host Organization.
- Draft and issue the Letter of Introduction to the Intern.
- Provide the “Acceptance Letter Template” to the intern.
- Provide the “Work Plan Form” to the professional intern.
- Receive the completed Work Plan from the intern, fully approved by the Host Organization.
During the Internship
- Entregar al Practicante Profesional el “Formato de Reporte Bimestral o Mensual dependiendo de las especificaciones de la Unidad Académica”.
- Recibir del practicante, revisar y aprobar el “Formato de Reporte Bimestral o Mensual”.
Upon Completion
- Provide the intern with the corresponding Bimonthly or Monthly Report Form, as specified by the Academic Unit.
- Receive, review, and approve the Bimonthly or Monthly Report submitted by the intern.
- Provide the intern with the “Placement Completion Letter Template.”
- Define the guidelines and format for the Final Report.
- Receive, review, and approve the Final Report submitted by the intern.
- Assemble the complete application file to request internship clearance from the General Directorate of Linkage and International Relations. This file must include:

- “Host OrganizationEvaluation Form”

- Request the official Professional Internship Clearance Certificate from the General Directorate of Linkage and International Relations.
Host Organizations
Onboarding Stage
- The Host Organization will issue the official “Acceptance Letter.”
- Draft the placement Work Plan with the assistance of the professional intern.
During the Internship
- Provide the professional intern with an appropriate workspace to perform their designated activities.
- Review and approve the Bimonthly or Monthly Report Forms.
Upon Completion
- Issue the official “Placement Completion Letter.”
- Complete the “Host Organization Evaluation Form.”
